2022 marks the 55th anniversary of the 44GS, which in 1967 introduced the unique design language that would guide the brand's timepieces for decades to come—the Grand Seiko Style. In commemoration, Grand Seiko presents the 44GS 55th Anniversary Limited Edition reference SBGY009 featuring a dial inspired by tsuki tenshin, the moment when the full moon is at its highest point in the sky.
With SBGY009, the modern 44GS design is made slimmer due to the thin manual wind Spring Drive 9R31 caliber. This movement employs a dual spring barrel that helps keep the movement compact and achieve a greater power reserve of 72 hours.
