The 2022 Seiko "Save The Ocean" Special Edition is coming. The Blue team featured modern re-interpretations of three legendary Seiko diver's watches, the designs are inspired by the glaciers that shape the landscapes and seascapes of the Arctic and Antarctic and are beautifully reflected on the dials of each piece.

The SPB301 (SBDC169) is a Modern Re-interpretation of the "1970 Mechanical Diver's Watch", the original model was released in 1970 with a unique streamlined form, it was worn by the Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura between 1974 to 1976 when he completed a 12,500km solo dog-sled run from Greenland to Alaska.

Fans worldwide usually refer to it as the "Captain Willard" as this watch was worn by the main actor of the character "Captain Benjamin L. Willard" in the movie "Apocalypse Now (1979)". The Icy White patterned dial on SPB301 reflects the beautiful texture and layers of the Arctic iceberg.
